Here are some statements concerning Venezuelan President, Hugo Chavez, which were made by Pat Robertson of the 700 Club and aired on The Miracle Channel, August 22, 2005:
"We have the ability to take him out, and I think the time has come that we exercise that ability"
"We don't need another $200 billion war to get rid of one, you know, strong-arm dictator. It's a whole lot easier to have some of the covert operatives do the job and then get it over with."
"You know, I don't know about this doctrine of assassination, but if he thinks we're trying to assassinate him, I think that we really ought to go ahead and do it. It's a whole lot cheaper than starting a war ... and I don't think any oil shipments will stop."
How can one begin to compare these statements with the Gospel of Christ?
My only comment is that with statements like these and many other controversial ones Robertson has made in the past, maybe he and The 700 Club should be "Taken Out" of the TV listings.
To date, The Miracle Channel has not publicly addressed this serious issue and they have not apologized to their viewers for contributing to it by allowing the program on the air.
