On November 6 and 7, CBC Saskatchewan's"News at Six"aired a two-part segment entitled "Miracles For Sale" by Steve Pasqualotto. These segments dealt with the Miracle Channel's fundraising practices. Included were statements from individuals who oppose the Miracle Channel's fundraising methods and the fact that the CRTC found the Miracle Channel to be in breach of ethical guidelines. Though asked multiple times, the Miracle Channel refused to appear on camera for comment. They chose to provide a written statement instead.
Due to time constraints, the story had to be broken up into two separate broadcasts and shortened in length from the full version.
The full version contains more fundraising clips, more statements from those opposed to the fundraising practices of the Miracle Channel and explains in greater detail, the particular guidelines the CRTC found the Miracle Channel to be in violation of. Statements are provided by another individual who was not included in the aired version.
If you missed the broadcast and would like to see it on your television, you may be able to. CBC Saskatchewan will be airing the full-length version this weekend on their program "Week In Review". The program normally airs Saturday and Sunday at 7:30 a.m., noon and 6:00 p.m. Central Standard Time. Please check your listings with your cable or satellite provider.

I just saw the new and improved version of the program, and I am much more pleased with it than I was with the two - part version. The finished program was a much more cohesive production. I am also pleased that more time was given to provide background comments to statements made by myself, and others. My thanks and appreciation go out to Steve Pasqualotto for taking the time to bring this expose to the people of Canada.
As a result of this program, and Tim's efforts, I hope that Christians everywhere will start to ponder the following:
The Miracle Channel may believe that God will answer people's prayers if they send in money to the station, but what happens when the prophecy is not complete or does not come to pass? Dick Deweert will tell you that they (as prophets) only see in part - that God never reveals the full Prophecy to them. Len Zoeteman will tell you that the prophets are not infallible. Yet I wonder, why do these self-proclaimed prophets never preface their prophecies with "Thus saith the Lord"? Is it because they are afraid (within themselves) to proclaim that the word they speak is truly from God? Are they having self - doubt? Or maybe, it is a Spiritual phrase which an utterance from a demonic source cannot breach!
Prophecy is not man's best guess, rather it is an exact prediction of the future. It is of God. A Prophet is either hearing the Word of God, or they are not. There is no gray area! When good prophecies go bad it is usually because the so-called prophet is speaking from his own experiences, wants, or the voices in their heads. If it's wrong - it's not from God! Quoting Scriptures and claiming to hear the Word of God in order to exact a desired outcome from the faithful is Kingdom destroying. Essentially, they are agenda setting for a kingdom here on earth - not God's Kingdom and they will be judged for their reprehensible behaviour.
Ezekiel 13:2-4 “Son of man, prophesy concerning the prophets of Israel who are prophesying, and thou hast said to those prophesying from their own heart: Hear ye a word of Yahweh: Thus said the Lord Yahweh: Woe unto the prophets who are foolish, Who are going after their own spirit, And they have seen nothing. As foxes in the wastes, Thy prophets, O Israel, have been.”
So God points out, a person may say they hear from the Lord yet it is really their own spirit speaking.
Ezek. 13:6 “They see falsehood and lying divination who are saying,
‘The Lord declares,’ when the Lord has not sent them; yet they hope for
the fulfillment of their word. “Did you not see a false vision and
speak a lying divination when you said, ‘The Lord declares,’ but it is
not I who have spoken?” ‘“Therefore, thus says the Lord God, “Because
you have spoken falsehood and seen a lie, therefore behold, I am
against you,” declares the Lord God.”
Ezek. 22:28 “And its prophets have daubed for them with chalk, Seeing a vain thing, and divining for them a lie, Saying, `Thus said the Lord Yahweh:’ And Yahweh hath not spoken.”
Jer. 23:32-36 “Behold, I am against those who prophesy false dreams,” says the LORD, “and tell them, and cause My people to err by their lies and by their recklessness. Yet I did not send them or command them; therefore they shall not profit this people at all,” says the LORD. “So when these people or the prophet or the priest ask you, saying, ‘What is the oracle of the LORD?’ you shall then say to them, ‘What oracle?’ I will even forsake you,” says the LORD. “And as for the prophet and the priest and the people who say, ‘The oracle of the LORD!’ I will even punish that man and his house. “Thus every one of you shall say to his neighbor, and every one to his brother, ‘What has the LORD answered?’ and, ‘What has the LORD spoken?’”And the oracle of the LORD you shall mention no more. For every man’s word will be his oracle, for you have perverted the words of the living God, the LORD of hosts, our God.”
WOW! If this isn't reason to run away fast from the false prophets . . .
The Bible is clear, God only gives a true prophet one kind of prophecy, correct prophecy; 100% of the time.
If a so-called prophet's doctrine is off it will lead to their prophecy being false. Once their prophesy is wrong, they no longer speak for God. That's why we need to test the prophecies, by the prophet’s statements. One thing false prophets have in common is the hope of not being tested for what they claim came from God. Leadership will denounce (or in Dick's case - ignore) those who question them. Placing guilt and fear (telling you not to judge) in those that would dare to question the anointed ones is rampant in today's church.
My hope is that the Miracle Channel and company will take action now to correct their misleading ways and be accountable to their target audience.

Amen. John, I agree. We have clear instruction in God’s word warning of
false prophets and that is just what we have an abundance of at TMC. When a
person says “In the name of God” they had better be speaking truth. And, as
likely pointed out a few times already, we are commanded to test all prophecy;
“Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold
fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil.” 1 Thess. 5:20-22
And we have been told HOW to test the promises so forcefully spoken on TMC;
“And if you say in your heart, ‘How shall we know the word which the LORD
has not spoken?’— when a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the thing
does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD has
not spoken” Deut 18:21,22
“To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this
word, it is because there is no light in them.” Isa 8:20
Do the promises of material blessing come true for all who
send money in to the TMC? No. The TMC says that this is a simple case of
interpretational differences. No. It is very clear to me that it is up to the
one who makes a promise in God’s name to be correct or be accountable. If you
cannot open your mouth with words of promise and know that it will be
fulfilled, THERE IS NO LIGHT IN YOU”.
Go ahead Mr. Copeland, and others, stand up on TMC and proclaim that God has
spoken to you. Tell us how you are to reveal this and promise that. Tell us not
to care for the wounded in this endless battle for more money. You keep doing
that and you will continue to be called to the test. ALL will be judged in the
end. Repent now and save yourself. The wealth you realize from your false and
empty promises is not worth what you will reap.

According to the Didache, which is a respected document distributed among the early church in terms of church practice and ethics, you can know a false prophet FROM THE START if they ask for money. This is a very interesting document and you easily can find it on the internet.

Part one of this story was aired nationally tonight at 7:30 EST on CBC Newsworld. I have been informed that part two will be airing tomorrow (November 15, 2006) on Newsworld at 7:30 EST as well.
The two-part series is slightly different from the full-length version but does not contain any additional information. If you missed the airing tonight you can still watch the full-length version by clicking on the link in the article above. You will need "Real Player" to be able to view the clip.

This morning I opened my Bible and it fell on Jeremiah 23:15-32 and just now realize that the rest of this chapter is quite serious business.
15 Therefore, this is what the LORD Almighty says concerning the prophets: "I will make them eat bitter food and drink poisoned water, because from the prophets of Jerusalem ungodliness has spread throughout the land."
16 This is what the LORD Almighty says: "Do not listen to what the prophets are prophesying to you; they fill you with false hopes. They speak visions from their own minds, not from the mouth of the LORD.
17 They keep saying to those who despise me, 'The LORD says: You will have peace.' And to all who follow the stubbornness of their hearts they say, 'No harm will come to you.'
18 But which of them has stood in the council of the LORD to see or to hear his word? Who has listened and heard his word?
19 See, the storm of the LORD will burst out in wrath, a whirlwind swirling down on the heads of the wicked.
20 The anger of the LORD will not turn back until he fully accomplishes the purposes of his heart. In days to come you will understand it clearly.
21 I did not send these prophets, yet they have run with their message; I did not speak to them, yet they have prophesied.
22 But if they had stood in my council, they would have proclaimed my words to my people and would have turned them from their evil ways and from their evil deeds.
23 "Am I only a God nearby," declares the LORD, "and not a God far away?
24 Can anyone hide in secret places so that I cannot see him?" declares the LORD. "Do not I fill heaven and earth?" declares the LORD.
25 "I have heard what the prophets say who prophesy lies in my name. They say, 'I had a dream! I had a dream!' 26 How long will this continue in the hearts of these lying prophets, who prophesy the delusions of their own minds? 27 They think the dreams they tell one another will make my people forget my name, just as their fathers forgot my name through Baal worship. 28 Let the prophet who has a dream tell his dream, but let the one who has my word speak it faithfully. For what has straw to do with grain?" declares the LORD. 29 "Is not my word like fire," declares the LORD, "and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces?
30 "Therefore," declares the LORD, "I am against the prophets who steal from one another words supposedly from me. 31 Yes," declares the LORD, "I am against the prophets who wag their own tongues and yet declare, 'The LORD declares.' 32 Indeed, I am against those who prophesy false dreams," declares the LORD. "They tell them and lead my people astray with their reckless lies, yet I did not send or appoint them. They do not benefit these people in the least," declares the LORD.
False Oracles and False Prophets
33 "When these people, or a prophet or a priest, ask you, 'What is the oracle [d] of the LORD ?' say to them, 'What oracle? [e] I will forsake you, declares the LORD.' 34 If a prophet or a priest or anyone else claims, 'This is the oracle of the LORD,' I will punish that man and his household. 35 This is what each of you keeps on saying to his friend or relative: 'What is the LORD's answer?' or 'What has the LORD spoken?' 36 But you must not mention 'the oracle of the LORD ' again, because every man's own word becomes his oracle and so you distort the words of the living God, the LORD Almighty, our God. 37 This is what you keep saying to a prophet: 'What is the LORD's answer to you?' or 'What has the LORD spoken?' 38 Although you claim, 'This is the oracle of the LORD,' this is what the LORD says: You used the words, 'This is the oracle of the LORD,' even though I told you that you must not claim, 'This is the oracle of the LORD.' 39 Therefore, I will surely forget you and cast you out of my presence along with the city I gave to you and your fathers. 40 I will bring upon you everlasting disgrace—everlasting shame that will not be forgotten."

argh... how so self-indicting this is: selling anointing oil against $1000 a bottle. If they don't see now how blasphemous they have become... how can they justify allt his? I wonder how many people have left TMC and Dominion Gateway because their eyes were opened? Or is the deception that good and skillful?

My grandparents buried in Crystal Springs said years ago, before this tv madness "they think they have God in their pocket". They left the roman cult and went to the United building till they too fell from holliness and trusted only in grace. Am i willing to die for the Word of the Father (Jesus) What did Jesus say ? http://z13.invisionfree.com/THE_UNHIVED_MIND/index.php?showtopic=19211
