Well, we're only days away from the May 11 release of "The Armageddon Factor - The Rise of Christian Nationalism in Canada" by author Marcy McDonald. We're not sure how much relevance this will have to The Miracle Channel but in consideration of their promotion of both Faytene Kryskow and the National House of Prayer with Rob and Fran Parker, I can only imagine TMC may get honorable mention.

Well, they had to do something. TMC has had a rough couple of years after the Deweerts and their loyal entourage left the building. Mervin Mediwake and the Bennetts just don't seem to have the pizazz (or should I say, "believability") to bring in enough dough to keep the station growing. So it doesn't come as any real surprise that they found someone new to "steer the ship" in an attempt to revive the glory days of TMC.
Here's the announcement from their electronic newsletter:
2010 means change at TMC
Over the past year the Board of Directors of the Miracle Channel Association has prayed about and worked toward finding a leader of God's choice, to take this ministry to where He wants it to go. The Board has sensed the Lord's leading and is now pleased to announce that Leon Fontaine will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the Miracle Channel as of January 1, 2010.
Leon, who heads the Springs mega-church, has an extensive background in church and media ministry and is excited about what God wants to accomplish in Canada and beyond through the channel.
Please join us in welcoming Leon and Sally Fontaine to the Miracle Channel and in praying for them as they seek God's wisdom for the direction He is leading all of us. The Board, Fred & Val Bennett, and the entire Miracle Channel team will continue the work set before us, and want to thank you for your continued prayer and support.
But is it all really about building the kingdom of God or is there more to be gained by this marriage of convenience? In other words, what's in it for Leon Fontaine? Does he not have enough on his plate leading the mega church he has built? I'd love to see the prenuptual agreement!
According to a statement on the Miracle Channel's web site, Shaw Cable in Campbell River has removed them from their programming lineup. There is no reason provided by The Miracle Channel but it is stated on their site that it is due to circumstances "beyond their control". Looks like someone hasn't been hearing their prayers... you know... "whatsoever you ask in My Name..."
Perhaps TMC just hasn't sown enough into that area. Maybe they need to follow their own advice and sow more... perhaps they are only one sacrifice away...
If this is the kind of victory that comes out of events like the Dominion Conference, you might want to carefully consider the harvest of benefits of attendance at such events. After all, it's not quite the kind of fruit I would want to reap, nor the type of anointing I desire.

A very important statement finally coming from a leader, outlining many issues many hoped and prayed would come to the light regarding Lakeland. May our friends at TMC also take this at heart...

Since the Dallas Observer and others have exposed Ole Anthony (head of Trinity Foundation Inc. and the man ultimately behind the Grassley Investigations) as a liar, hypocrite, cult-leader, and fornicator, will this site remove its endorsement of Anthony by removing the link to Trinity Foundation Inc. in the "Web Resources" section?
For those who haven't read the articles, here they are:
Todd Bentley: God's agenda for Lakeland: not about Jesus... BAM! goes the Word... (watch videos on YouTube)
The following sounds like the same time of ability to stretch truth to fit an agenda that so many swallow in the name of prosperous destiny. However, this time, the price required is not money currency, but "sight".
I don't know what attitude I'm supposed to have, but i know which one i have.

I'VE CHANGED my MIND ABOUT LAKELAND" - Ken [-Revivalschool member].
Well, shortly after Lakeland started I was posting here as a "supporter". I had my life transformed in the Brownsville revival, and knowing that many who were offended at Lakeland were from the same camp as those who opposed Brownsville, I naturally took what I thought to be "the proper side". Although I did say I was put off by the hype surrounding Lakeland, I was open to the idea that it was "from God", and I saw criticism from this board that I chalked up to mostly phariseeism.

Q - Will The Miracle Channel no longer be available on Rogers Digital Cable after July 4, 2008 and if this is the case, what is the reason?
A - As of July 8, 2008, the following was posted on The Miracle Channel's official website: "We regret that Rogers Cable has taken the Miracle Channel off their system. Unfortunately, the Miracle Channel was not able to keep up with the increasing costs charged by the cable company."

You are all forgiven if you didn't remember, or even notice, that the MC "Dominion Conference 2008" was held over this past weekend. Most of us in Lethbridge didn't notice either. Indeed, it was such a small scale event this year that the only day you would have been aware that something special was going on was Sunday. That was the only day there were cars overflowing from the parking lot onto the streets. Unlike previous years Dominion Conference did not need special parking attendants and pylons set up to handle this years meagre gathering. Of course Sundays increased attendance cannot be dismissed as not at least partially being increased by the remaining regular DGC Sunday congregation, and the fact that is the day they have the end of conference barbeque.

Details are few but apparently Faisal is resigning from his position as host of "Plumbline", the Miracle Channel's anchor program. The unsubstantiated report as I heard it is, the MC wanted to remove the program from it's current time slot, which Faisal was alright with. However, when the channel insisted on control of the program's content, it was too heavy a cross for him to bear.
Foolish me for thinking the entire MC programming was pre-scripted all along. This does however beg the question, where does the word of God begin and the control of man end? For Faisal, it appears to be ending here!
