Apology From An Apologist?

Email Article To a Friend View Printable Version
In SightThe subject of discussion on "Insight" today was "apologies and how to apologize". I first off find it interesting on the timing of such a show considering the recent events at the Miracle Channel. My first impression of this particular subject airing at this time is that it's the beginning of a conditioning process to teach certain "principles" of forgiveness; Kind of the first step in what's systematically required to restore Dick and Joan to their leadership positions while obtaining as much support and forgiveness from others as is possible.

"In Sight" or "In Spite"?

In Sight

First off I would have liked to entitle this article, "My conversation with Dick Deweert on Insight".  However, I was never given the opportunity to converse with Dick.  I probably would let sleeping dogs lie, but much has happened to myself as a result of my call to the Miracle Channel's noon hour program Insight.  Subsequently, I feel it is time for me to speak out in regards to my question as posed to Dick, and an article that has appeared on this site authored by Marina.  Marina has managed to succinctly put the gist and spirit with which my question was proffered in her article, and I will not bother to waste the reader's time by regurgitating it again in this article (please see Victims or Felons).   I am contributing to this site today to affirm the facts as Marina has stated them, in regards to my call to Insight, and to share further with you, dear readers, of my intentions and ensuing beratement by Dick Deweert.

My intention behind the question was simply to query the Miracle Channel's President regarding the effect that the Wes Campbell fraud charges may have on the Miracle Channel's credibility to the nation, given that Wes and Stacy had been guests of the Miracle Channel and even presented to the Dominion GateWay Church as prophetic ministers with Dick's endorsement.  Rather than answer my question rationally, I was treated to Dick's version of a verbal redressing.  His comments intoned that I was an accuser and stood in judgement of the Campbells.  Whereas, my question had neither accusation nor judgment in either its content or its intention.  I was not allowed to point this out as my microphone feed was muted, nor was I provided an opportunity for fair rebuttal.  Indeed long before Dick had finished his verbal onslaught and denouncement of myself, for even daring to ask such a question, my telephone connection had been disabled.  I was treated wrongly by Dick Deweert on national television, and my words were reposed out of context in a manner which falsely portrayed the nature of my question.

He... He's On Hold??? (The Sound Of A Nervous President)

Email Article To a Friend View Printable Version
In SightFor those of you who may not know, it has become customary for Dick Dewert, President of The Miracle Channel, to appear on the In Sight show following the usual four to five days of begging that The Miracle Channel does when they need money (between 4 and 6 times a year).

Today was no different.

Being the person I am, I like to hear things from the horses mouth, or at least from some part of the horse. So I decided I would call in and get some facts from the one person who can provide them... Mr. Dewert, the lead horse.

I felt a telephone call to the show was the best way to get answers, as he does not respond to my correspondence and it was also the best way to inform others who may have the same or similar questions.

Upsetting The Apple Cart

In SightHearing guest Paul Spilsbury talking about "End Times" on the Insight program this week was like a breath of fresh air! I can not say enough about how encouraged I was to finally hear someone on this program who knows how to study his bible and interperet scripture using hermeneutical principles. Although he was only able to briefly touch on a few points of the text within the book of Revelation, he summarized what he believed to be the main point that we Christians are to glean from in the day in which we live. Based on his conclusion, I could't agree more.

Before getting to the topic on Insight, I must first clarify this: I believe that one of the greatest detriments to all of Christianity through the centuries has been the prevalence of wrong teaching from the pupit, which comes from erroneous and mostly subjective interpretation of the Bible. As Peter warns us, there are those who will twist the scriptures to their own destruction and lead many away in the spirit of error or as Dr. Paul Spilsbury terms it, the spirit of antichrist. When believers fail to hold up the messages they hear from the man in the pulpit against the whole counsel of scripture, they can be easily led down a path of error and then exploited for the benefit of and profit of the one whom they follow. In fact, the New Testement is full of warnings for believers to test every spirit to see if it be of the spirit of Christ. Many throughout the centuries gave their very lives to uphold the purity and essence of the gospel because they realized that anything less than the truth would not bring forth the fruit of Christ. Because we fail to exercise godly discernment in this generation as the Bereans do, heresy remains largely unchallenged in this age of spiritual darkness.

Email Article To a Friend View Printable Version
In SightIn regards to my post here: http://www.themiraclechannel.ca/article.php?story=200504041300274

I just received notification that The Miracle Channel will be accepting my calls for the show "In Sight".

Based on correspondence I have just received from Brad Lockhart, Vice President, Corporate and Regulatory Affairs, of The Miracle Channel, there was a misunderstanding.

My thanks goes to them for quickly addressing and clarifying this issue.

Please Don't Call

In SightWhat a season it has become.

I have been a frequent caller to the program In Sight.

More often than not, I have offered opposing views in my comments.

Strangely enough, today, when I called into the show to give comment on the topic, I was told they are no longer taking my calls.
