LifeLine is the Miracle Channel's flagship program, hosted by founders Dr. Dick and Joan Dewert. LifeLine features interesting and well-known guests, the Miracle Praise Band, and a time of ministry when the Dewerts pray for the needs of viewers. LifeLine offers viewers a personal link to the Miracle Channel through the War Room prayer center. Phone lines are open during each broadcast for viewers to call in to receive personal ministry from telephone prayer partners. LifeLine airs three times a day, four days per week and is the most popular program on the Miracle Channel.

Dick and Joan Resign from the Miracle Channel

If any of you have been wondering why there has been a lack of Dick and Joan on the Miracle Channel recently, well I think the headline speaks for itself.  It was announced in church today (Dominion Gateway Centre and Victory Church of Lethbridge) by a very tearful Dick and Joan, that they will no longer be heading up the Miracle Channel.  They have stepped down and Ray and Donna Block have been asked (and I believe they accepted) to run the channel.  Wayne and Rose Boersma, formerly of Victory church in Brooks have been asked to take over the Pastorship of Dominion Gateway.

Without going into too much detail (I would like to speak with Tim before I say much more), I hope all those who are affected negatively by this news realize that this is not what God is all about.  We are all human and we all have the potential to disappoint others and God.  I hope that real Christianity does not take a hit because of the actions of those who have wandered off the path Christ has set before us.

Clive Pick Critique - Part 2

Lifeline
This article is the follow-up to the first "Clive Pick Critique" corresponding to his second appearance on the program "Lifeline" on February 21, 2006. Certain quotes are transcribed verbatim while others are paraphrased. The quotes and key points of the program are in black and my own comments are in violet font.

Before I get into the substance of Pick’s further revelation on tithing, I want to say that I know many Christians who begin to read this will not finish it or will toss it aside once realizing that this article does not support the doctrine of tithing for the New Testament church. If you are one who refuses to examine why you believe what you believe, there’s no need to read any further.

Clive Pick Critique - Part 1

I used to think the prosperity gospel of health and wealth was mainly confined to the Word of Faith, positive confession bunch. However, it seems this doctrine has managed to trickle its way into even the most mainline orthodox Christian denominations in Canada. Undoubtedly, we must credit the Miracle Channel for the broad dispersion of this false teaching throughout the church at large and the deception it births in many who succumb to embracing unbiblical doctrine. This doctrine of earthly abundance and prosperity does not produce the fruit of Christ, but the fruit of man's unregenerate nature, ever seeking to fulfill its own desires and never beholding, much less conforming to the true nature of Christ. Followers of Christ, who do not imitate Him, are not followers at all. They are imposters driven to serve their own agenda, not to serve the Master.

One day, whether in this life or the next, the directors of the Miracle Channel will be held accountable for presenting doctrines diametrically opposed to the simple truths of the Gospel, using Jesus' name, as they fervently endeavor to promote the eternally dangerous teachings of a man named Clive Pick.

Because the Miracle Channel is required by the CRTC to present a variety of religious views as part of the "balance requirement" in programming, it is necessary that they broadcast the teachings of the prosperity gospel, dangerous as they are. However, something the Miracle Channel consistently fails to do, though also required, is present opposing views to this particular "religious view" which they are so fond of. Thus the reason for this article.
